FAQ

Common
Questions.

Answers to the questions families, executors, realtors, and estate professionals tend to ask before getting started.

How do estate sales work, and what do you handle?

ECOS handles the full process: consultation, research, pricing, organizing, staging, marketing, on-site sale management, and post-sale planning. You do not have to manage the sale yourself.

How do you decide between an estate sale, a buyout, and a full liquidation?

It depends on the contents, the timeline, and the client's goals. During consultation, ECOS reviews the situation and recommends the path that creates the best outcome.

How do you price what is in the home?

Pricing is based on research rather than guesswork. Specialty categories such as jewelry, art, antiques, and collectibles may receive added expertise so value is protected.

Do I need to be there during the sale?

No. Most clients prefer not to be present. It can be easier emotionally, and buyers usually shop more comfortably when the owner is not there.

What happens to items that do not sell?

That is part of the plan from the start. We repurpose or donate as much as possible. If the property needs additional clearing after the sale, cleanout support is available as a separate service, with its scope outlined apart from the estate-sale commission.

Can you handle a hoarding situation or a property that has been closed up for years?

Yes. ECOS regularly handles difficult properties without judgment. The team sorts carefully because value often hides in exactly these spaces.

Do you work with high-value or luxury estates?

Yes. Fine art, jewelry, designer pieces, rare collections, and luxury furnishings receive careful research, discreet handling, and targeted marketing.

How do you get started?

Start with a free consultation by phone and, when helpful, a short walk-through. ECOS reviews the property, listens to your goals, and recommends a practical plan.

Do you work with realtors, attorneys, and executors?

Regularly. ECOS is a turnkey resource for professionals managing property transitions, probate matters, estate files, and closing timelines.
